Description

This session is intended to be a introduction to Google Drive and will cover basic level functionality.

What is Google Drive?  It’s the backbone of your Google experience, combining storage, access, sharing, and collaboration with the power of G Suite.  

During this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use Drive to manage your resources in a collaborative environment.  Primary topics include organizing files and folders, securing documents through file sharing permissions, group editing and collaboration, downloading, importing, and converting files, along with common tools throughout Google's suite of apps.

An overview of Shared Drives (previously Team Drive) will also be covered in this session.

PCs will be provided in the training lab and space is available if you prefer to use your own laptop.

Description

Join OIT Instructors to explore the new user-friendly interface of Google sites with drag & drop functionality.  Participants will build a new site while incorporating the following elements:

  • Creating & organizing new pages
  • Choosing themes (color schemes, font styles, etc)

Description

Google Docs is one of many powerful tools available in the Google Drive suite of apps.  This web based word processor provides users the ability to create and format documents while collaborating on projects with ease. Additionally, it can be used with a variety of devices – desktop, laptop, tablet, & smartphone. Since all files are stored in the Cloud, they are available any time, from anywhere and from any device.

This workshop will focus on features beyond creating, and formatting text.

Description

If you're comfortable with the basics of Google Calendar and are ready to use some more of its features, this hands-on workshop is for you. 

This workshop will focus on three main sections:  

  • Calendar (my calendar, other calendars, mini calendar)
  • Event details
  • Calendar management – settings.      

Specific features will include event attachments, maps and directions, sharing and embedding calendars, search options,  scheduling Hangouts (video conferencing), and more.
